Tree-Lined Main St. in Downtown Mesa Is a Wonderful Shopping Destination!

by Barb Stillman

Downtown Mesa reminds me of my childhood. Before large shopping malls, I would go with my Mother and siblings downtown to shop and we would make a day out of it. Things changed when the large malls were introduced and the trips downtown became less frequent. But I still have fond memories of storefronts filled with merchandise enticing me to come in and shop.

When I visit Downtown Mesa, it’s as if I’ve stepped back in time. I enjoy parking my car in one of their many free parking lots and walking from shop to shop, visiting with friendly shop owners and staffs.

This Downtown area has many fun shops plus several coffee shops and restaurants. You’ll find unique antique and vintage shops, a once-a-month vintage marketplace filled with home décor and specialty gift and craft stores. There is something for everyone from rustic primitive to Victorian along with mid-century furniture, antiques, linens, books, military, jewelry and so much more. You are sure to find whatever your heart desires or perhaps a small treasure that makes you smile.

The shops are all located along tree-lined Main Street in the heart of downtown Mesa. It’s even a fun experience to leave your car close to home and ride the light rail that runs down the middle of Main Street. Just hop off and start your shopping.
