Antiques on Camelback Mall is Celebrating Its Five-Year Anniversary!

As the northernmost antiques’ store on 7th Avenue, Antiques on Camelback acts as a cornerstone for the Melrose shopping district. Its gateway location makes it the perfect starting point for an entire day of shopping on this popular, still growing, antiques “destination” in Phoenix. And the Mall is celebrating its five-year anniversary this winter!

Antiques on Camelback boasts over 35 dealers, most of who have been with the store since its inception. Dealer dedication is visible in the ever-changing merchandise and displays in the myriad spaces. The enthusiasm of the staff, when helping customers find that elusive “must have” item, is also a plus.

No luck today? Customers are invited to share their search on a very extensive Wish List. Then, when their items are located, they get a call from the store with the good news. Sometimes dealers can locate the items in their own “stash” and bring them in the next day. Some items may take a year to find, but the requests continue to stay on the search radar.

Many of the dealers in the mall have specialties and are very knowledgeable in their fields of interest, such as: ephemera, glassware, textiles, furniture, Native American rugs, baskets, jewelry and more. You will see Antiques on Camelback dealers selling at various Arizona shows and markets plus several also travel to California, Nevada and New Mexico with their treasures. Others have a steady stream of antiques selling on the Internet as well as at the mall and another part of the team stays busy conducting estate sales. This group of friendly dealers is constantly learning from each other and, of course, from knowledgeable customers and collectors who love to talk about their areas of interest.

Antiques on Camelback Owner Stace Robbins is a long time dealer, shop owner and collector. For many years, she has been an officer in the Valley of the Sun Antique Dealer Association (VSADA). She is currently Vice President of the organization. (See the VSADA centerfold ad in this issue for more information.) Stace is also one of the original creators and designers of the Antiques Tourism Brochure that is continually distributed each year to over four hundred locations in the Phoenix area, giving out of town visitors a guide to valley-wide antiquing opportunities.

Stace says, “We love to share our customers! Before they leave the store, we ply them with maps of the other local shops and restaurants and help with directions to citywide antique shops or malls, depending on the shoppers’ interests. We always include an Antique Register and they are delighted, sometimes surprised, that all these materials are free!”

She adds, “Antiques on Camelback would like to thank all our customers, both old and new, for their support during the past five years and we wish everyone a joyous holiday season!”

The Multi-Dealer mall is located at 4955 N. 7th Ave. Readers are encouraged to visit antiquesoncamelback.com to sign up for quarterly storewide sale notices. Better yet, stop by and browse, say hello and sign up in person.

When Publisher-Art Director Lolly Konecky was looking for our November-December cover, she came across these vintage Christmas decorations at Antiques on Camelback. Bright and colorful ornaments are a great way to give that extra special look to your holiday décor. Try hanging them from the tree or displaying them in a unique container. Be sure to be on the lookout for timeless selections as our advertising antique shops start to deck the hall for the season!

The Antique Register congratulates Antiques on Camelback on celebrating its 5-year anniversary this winter!
