11th Silent Auction to Benefit Alzheimer’s at Pewter & Wood in Carefree on March 18

Pewter & Wood Antiques will hold its 11th Annual Alzheimer’s Silent Auction Benefit on Saturday, March 18, at its Cave Creek shop at 40417 N. 64th Place. The auction runs from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and an Open House will also be held at the shop from 12:30 to 4 p.m.

Pewter & Wood Antiques owner Barbara Boardman Johnson said, “Please consider making a donation of an antique that needs a new home. Too many friends and family members have been affected by this terrible disease. We need to help find a cure and this Auction benefits Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest.”

Auction items are 18th to early 20th Century American (preferably) antiques with a few reproductions that are donated by collectors, antique dealers and friends of Pewter & Wood from around the country. Donations are tax deductible and donors will receive letters from Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest for use on 2017 tax returns.

Auction items are now being accepted and the deadline for donations is February 28. They can be mailed to Pewter & Wood, P.O. Box 4066, Cave Creek, AZ 85327. If you prefer to send via UPS or FEDEX, please call Barbara at 602-677-5686 for address instructions or if you have any questions.

Barbara said, “Last year’s auction realized $10,075 from 182 items donated and sold—many to dealers and collectors. This year’s goal is to raise $12,000 and your help is needed. This is a wonderful venue since the actual selling prices are far below the retail value we post and typically items go for close to opening bid amounts. They also make great birthday and holiday gifts and it’s a great way to support a critically important cause!”

Photographs and descriptions of every item will be posted in the Alzheimer’s Auction Catalogue on Pewter & Wood’s website on March 10 at www.pewterandwoodantiques.com. Bids can be emailed to info@pewterandwoodantiques.com no later than March 17. Phone bids called in to 602-677-5686 will be accepted up to 1:30 p.m., just before the auction ending bell rings on March 18.

There are no buyer’s fees or premiums. All payments are made by check to: Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest, memo line “Research,” and mailed to Pewter & Wood. One hundred percent of the money goes towards Alzheimer’s research!
