Hey, savvy junkers, compulsive collectors and weekend warriors, come dig to your heart’s delight for everything you want or need at one of the valley’s favorite outdoor flea markets! The Thieves Market is held on the first Saturday of the month from October to April with upcoming markets on February 3, March 3 and April 7. (Closed in January for New Year’s.) The location is at the historic Big Surf Lot, 1500 N. McClintock Drive in Tempe.

The Thieves Market is great fun and you never know what you’ll find—from antiques to vintage, handcrafted, art, exotic imports, collectibles, vintage furniture, clothing, jewelry, tools, salvage, industrial and odds and ends. You name it and it’s bound to be in the market somewhere—and at a reasonable price! This is where dealers shop. And keep in mind, the market features local business owners.

Owner Mickey Meulenbeek says, “We seem to specialize in wacky, weird and wonderful! The Thieves Markets are ‘perfectly uncivilized’ and digging for the treasures is the whole idea so be ready to go through boxes!”

General admission is $3.00 at the door and general admission hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dealer hour admission is $6.00 from 8 to 9 a.m. Kids 12 and under are admitted free. Mellow pets on a leash are welcome. Parking is free.
